About Us
Our Story
How it All Began
Welcome to Dogs On The Farm & Cats Too, where pets are part of our family! We are dedicated to providing a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for your dogs and cats. We work hard to understand the unique needs of each pet, and we are committed to delivering outstanding personalized care and customer service.
In 2002, after many years teaching special education in Middletown, Karen Leipzig decided to take the leap to pursue her dream of working with animals. Along with her husband and sons, Karen opened Dogs On The Farm & Cats Too, a play & stay pet resort with an emphasis on safe loving fun. At founding it was one of the first Doggie Daycares and Play & Stay Pet Resorts in the state.

Location! Location! Location!
Country Style Home Away from Home
Currently, we offer play & stay dog boarding, cat boarding, doggie daycare, a variety of dog training options, custom enrichment activities, pet sitting, grooming services, play yard rentals, birthday parties, and more!
As a local family business, we live in the community too, and we understand the need to participate in local events and to support local schools and nonprofits in the Middletown, Atlantic Highlands, Red Bank, Rumson, and Holmdel area. We love helping our local rescues and shelters, and have regular fundraising events to support them.
The Dogs On The Farm Difference
We focus on personalized stays for your pet, whether they’re here for a day or a week. Choosing not only the size of the suite, but also the type and amount of social play and enrichment activities will make your pet’s stay a pawfect fit. Every pet gets plenty of attention and TLC.
Continuing education and close involvement within the pet care industry has helped Dogs On The Farm continue to grow and improve as industry standards change and new technology and research emerges.
Our location on a 5+ acre historic horse farm gives dogs access to very large play areas with great farm scents and a wonderful opportunity to experience being near horses, mini-horses, goats, farm cats, and chickens. Give your dog a taste of country living!
