Our Background
How it All Began
Start with a horse farm in Middletown, NJ, then add a local school teacher searching for a way to stay at home with her beloved dogs, cats, and horses, and you have all the ingredients for the beginning of Dogs On The Farm & Cats, Too. Karen Leipzig, the founder of Dogs On The Farm, was a special education teacher in Middletown for almost twenty years. Although teaching was fulfilling, her animals were her passion and it was hard to leave them behind every day. Determined to live her passion, Karen Leipzig opened Dogs On The Farm & Cats Too in the Fall of 2002. Now, Dogs on the Farm & Cats Too is a full service pet resort offering boarding, dog daycare, grooming, dog training, and pet sitting. Karen’s sons, daughter-in-law, and baby granddaughter have come on board to make it truly a family business.
