Dogs on the Farm is now offering training classes in our covered arena. Each class runs for 6 weeks and is conducted in weekly 1 hour sessions. New sessions are being scheduled now, call for more info.

Classes Offered:


Classes will start in October and will be offered as followed:

  • Sundays beginning October 25th 1:30 – 2:30: Basic Puppy Obedience $150

    For puppies 12 weeks to 5 months. Course Length: 6 weeks (six 1 hour sessions). This time period is referred to as the cutting of apron strings. It is a period of rapid learning as well as a time where your pup will become more independent and have a desire to explore and learn it can affect others with its teeth. At this stage of development you may notice your pup gaining confidence, while at the same time, begin fearing certain people, objects, etc. This class involves free form off leash play as well as basic manners on leash; introduction to sit, stay, come, walk loosely on leash, lay down, stand, control its teething (bite inhibition and play nicely with other pups. This is a reward-based program that teaches your dog that he or she will get a reward for positive behavior and the consequence of negative behavior will be no reward. Mandatory Vaccinations: Rabies, Parvovirus, Bordatella, and Leptospirosis.

  • Tuesdays beginning October 27th 7:30 – 8:30: Adolescent Obedience $150

    For dogs 6 to 10 months. Course Length: 6 weeks (six 1 hour sessions). During this period your adolescent will develop quite rapidly and his behavior may become more challenging. At this stage of development your dog is experiencing puberty and if male, his testosterone will peak at 10 months of age. This is the age where his puppy liscense expires and dogs begin to see him as an adult. This class involves a more structured form or obedience, which involves introducing the leadership program (working for food, praise, and play). In this class your puppy will learn to sit, stay, and down for longer periods of time as well as loos-leash walking, manners, entering and exiting doorways, and more. Learning is accomplished with games and rewards. It will also teach your adolescent how to politely interact with older dogs. Required Vacinations: Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella. Required Supplies: Stationary collar made of cotton or leather and your dog’s favorite treats! All pups must be leashed when entering training facility.


  • Thursdays beginning October 29th 7:30 – 8:30: Adult Obedience $150

    Dogs 1 year and older. Course Length: 6 weeks (six 1 hour sessions). This class is designed for the dog who may or may not have had some form of training at home, or a dog who may need refreshing on his prior training. In each class owners will learn how to read canine body language, to use calming signals, and other ways to communicate with their best friend. Also, each class includes fun games and activities that dogs and their humans will enjoy! Required Vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella. Required Supplies: Stationary collar made or cotton or leather and your dogs favorite treats!
